Course Description Immigration lawyers must contend with the possibility that extreme hardship petitions may be denied by the USCIS. In this seminar, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Attorney with experience in criminal mitigation and immigration representation, Mark Silver will highlight and discuss the major reasons for denials of extreme hardship petitions by the USCIS. Mr. Silver will then instruct attorneys how to analyze these denials and subsequently employ best practices in efforts to overcome the related obstacles. Further, Mr. Silver will advise how attorneys can respond to denials through the advocacy of the psychosocial forensic experts working in conjunction with immigration lawyers. Learning Objectives: I.
